Banks resident honored by Wholistic Peace Institute January 27 2021
Jim Sitzman of Banks was honored with the institue s Heart of Gold Award Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Jim Sitzman is a giver so much so that the 83-year-old Banks resident was awarded the Heart of Gold Award by the Wholistic Peace Institute, as part of a virtual ceremony Wednesday, Jan. 20.
A Colorado native who s lived in Oregon for more than 70 years, Sitzman has been giving back by way of the church and public service his entire life. I guess I ve always thought it was important to see beyond yourself, Sitzman said. I think it s essential to generate within a community an awareness of others and of sharing.
