Evil dies tonight.
So promises the actress Jamie Lee Curtis as horror icon Laurie Strode in the super-gory, full-length new trailer for Halloween Kills.
The film, which was directed by David Gordon Green ( Pineapple Express ), was shot in the Wilmington area in 2019. It s set for an Oct. 15 release. Let it burn! Curtis wails at the start of the trailer, which picks up where Halloween Green s 2018 follow-up to John Carpenter s original film left off. That is, with a massive fire that Curtis character hoped would be the end of iconic horror killer Michael Myers.
No such luck, of course, as the seemingly immortal Myers (who now gains supernatural powers with each kill?) dispatches what seems to be an entire crew of firefighters in the trailer. Not to mention murdering multiple other characters, and the trailer doesn t leave a whole ton to the imagination in terms of so-called kill spoilers. (Although the film will presumably have a few surprises; we ll see.)

On Monday, FOX dropped several trailers for shows that are part of its 2021-2022 TV lineup including the comedy Welcome to Flatch, which filmed in and around the Burgaw area in 2020. And Burgaw plays a starring role in the trailer, which features multiple locations from the Pender County town, as well as shots of downtown Wallace, which is in nearby Duplin County.
Formerly titled This Country the show is basically an Americanized version of an award-winning British comedy with that title Welcome to Flatch is a mockumentary about life in a small American town. To explore small town living, FOX sent a documentary crew to get to know the locals in a typical American town, reads a text card in the trailer, which has a countrified version of Iggy Pop s punk-pop anthem Lust for Life for its soundtrack.
