Liam and Noel Gallagher are executive producing a new feature documentary about the Knebworth concerts their band Oasis played in August 1996.
After 2.5m people applied for tickets, 250,000 fans attended the Hertfordshire gigs over two days, seen by many as the peak of both Oasisâs career and the wider Britpop scene. The Prodigy, the Chemical Brothers, Manic Street Preachers, the Charlatans, Cast and Kula Shaker also performed.
Director Jake Scott described it as âa story driven entirely by the music, a rockânâroll experience, told in the moment, like a visual stream-of-consciousness that is built around the extensive archive footage from the eventâ. He said there would be âno on-camera interviews or unnecessary celebrity recollectionsâ.

Noel Gallagher, who is a guest on tonight's Late Late Show, has said it is "character building" to play to fans more interested in Oasis songs than his new material.
Noel Gallagher Teases New Music
Noel Gallagher has teased new music is set to arrive on Friday (29.04.21).
Gallagher sent fans of Oasis into overdrive by teasing a release date of his next project on Twitter this week.
He simply shared a graphic with the date 29.04.21.
It’s not currently known if it’s new solo work or Oasis-related, though many fans have been speculating that Oasis might finally be reuniting.
Noel is due to appear on ‘The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on BBC Radio 2 on Thursday (28.04.21) morning when he’s likely to reveal more about the mysterious project.
Oasis split up in 2009 following a major bust-up between Noel and his estranged sibling and bandmate Liam backstage at their final gig in Paris.
Oasis are set to release a documentary to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the band s historic Knebworth gigs.
Despite rumours that rival brothers and ex-bandmates Noel and Liam Gallagher - who have been at loggerheads ever since the Britpop legends split following a backstage bust-up between the pair at their final concert in Paris in 2009 - could be eyeing up a biopic, the former has insisted it s not the case and they are simply releasing never-before-seen footage from the two legendary shows at the Hertfordshire venue in 1996.
Addressing reports of the estranged siblings secretly registering a new joint company called Kosmic Kyte on Companies House, which is for motion picture production activities , Noel told The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2: âThereâs a lot of stories in the press about it being a film company for a biopic, which of course itâs not.
