The Biden White House is bad business for Trump-tied lobbyists

(Xinhua/ via Getty Images) Lobbying firms that flourished under former President Donald Trump are hemorrhaging corporate clients now that Joe Biden occupies the White House.  Trump campaigned on a promise to “drain the swamp.” But his election spawned a cottage industry of lobbyists many of whom had not lobbied in Washington before 2017 selling access to the president. After Trump’s defeat, every one of those lobbying firms saw their earnings decline in the first three months of 2021, and some shuttered entirely. Matthew Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union and a close Trump ally, experienced a massive drop in lobbying revenue. Schlapp’s firm, Cove Strategies, received $180,000 from four clients in the first quarter 2021, according to lobbying filings released Tuesday. Michelle Malkin At AFPAC II: "Bloody, But Unbowed" | Articles

Michelle Malkin has emerged as an extraordinary force in U.S. politics, transitioning from a brilliant career in conservative journalism to becoming a genuine political leader. And, much as I respect the unique phenomenon that is a Trump rally, I have to say that Michelle’s speeches come closer to classical oratory in their intellectual force and sheer beauty. What follows is adapted from her remarks at Nick Fuentes’ AFPAC conference, February 26, 2021. Congratulations to all concerned. See her on video here. Good evening, America First-ers. Mommy’s home!  Mr. Potato Head has been neutered. Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben have been erased. Statues of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Confederate generals, Catholic saints, and Columbus have all been torn down. Our last legitimately elected president, Donald J. Trump, has been deplatformed everywhere. But the authentic America First movement is alive and kicking, growing and spreading.

Supoj Buranaprapapong via Getty Images By Washington lobbyists with close ties to outgoing President Donald Trump were paid lucrative sums by clients angling for last-minute pardons from the president. Matthew Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union and a close Trump ally, brought in the largest haul. According to a lobbying filing released Thursday night, Schlapp was paid a whopping $750,000 since mid-December to lobby Trump to pardon Parker Petit, a top Republican donor who served as Georgia finance chairman for Trump’s 2016 campaign. Petit was convicted of securities fraud in November and faced up to 20 years in federal prison.
