The Bombay High Court has ordered the Goa government to provide an adequate number of protective screens to ensure the privacy of COVID-19 patients at the state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

The oxygen supply at the Goa Medical College and Hospital was getting streamlined following the commissioning of a new tank of life-saving gas at the facility, state Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said on Sunday.
Over the last five days (till Saturday morning), 83 patients died at the state-run medical facility during the dark hours between 2 am and 6 am, as per official figures.
A 20,000-kilo litre oxygen tank was commissioned at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Saturday.
Vishwajit Rane told PTI that the oxygen supply at the GMCH was getting streamlined after the commissioning of the tank.
The order stated COVID-19 patients will be admitted in 50 per cent of the total beds in these hospitals as per the directions of designated officers of the government and the payment for the treatment of DDSSY (state-run insurance scheme) beneficiaries will be made by the government.

To ensure seamless oxygen supply and reduce dependence on the trolley system we have started installation of 20,000 Litres of Medical Oxygen Tank at Goa Medical College. This tank would be made operational on a war footing, Sawant tweeted.
