As Saskatchewan’s COVID-19 case numbers dip, Neudorf says his new concern is that partially or completely unvaccinated people particularly the young may skip out on getting the shot because they feel the pandemic is no longer a threat, which the University of Saskatchewan professor says is wholly untrue.

“The lull we’re seeing right now, these low numbers of cases, we saw this last summer as well, even before immunization,” said Neudorf, an epidemiologist and former medical health officer. He said the province’s low vaccination uptake rate means cases could flare again in the fall.
