It has an oval body with eight calcareous plates on the dorsal part. They are fixed to the substrate and move with a suction cup foot. It is dark brown in color.
It feeds on algae and small organisms that it takes off with the radula. If it detaches from the rock, it curls into a ball.

39 more Algerian migrants intercepted in Mazarrón and Cartagena
82 Algerians were detained between Thursday and Saturday last week
Following the detention of 43 unauthorized migrants on the beaches of the Region of Murcia last Thursday a further 39 were detained along the coastline of Cartagena and Mazarrón on Friday and Saturday morning, all of them believed to be of Algerian nationality.
The migrants were travelling from north Africa on three small boats, the first of which was intercepted in Mazarrón in the early hours of Friday. On Saturday another craft was intercepted two miles from Cabo de Palos by the maritime salvage vessel Río Cervera and all 12 of those on board were found to be in good health, as were the 14 who later made it ashore at the Playa del Pedrucho in La Manga del Mar Menor.
The Contentious-Administrative Court number 1 of Elche has cancelled the award of the contract for the seasonal beach services awarded by the Orihuela City Council, which includes the operation of beach bars, sunbeds and water sports.

British Pilot dies in Cabo de Palos crash
A British pilot has died after he crashed his plane into the sea close to Cabo de Palos.
According to the emergency services the dead man is a 61 year old of British origin and a resident of Totana. The body was taken to the port of Cabo de Palos by the pleasure boat that picked it up, where it remained there until the arrival of the forensic.
The body was then taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine, where the autopsy will confirm the cause of death, while the Civil Guard carries out an investigation into the cause of the accident.
