Three years ago, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Ryan Connolly was one of two soldiers in the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade to die in an aviation training assignment.
Connolly, 37, joined the Army in 2001 and arrived at Fort Campbell in 2016. He was survived by his wife, Sierra, and two sons, Tristan and Cameron.
Earlier this week, Connolly’s sacrifice was remembered by the Tunnel to Towers Gold Star Family Home Program. The foundation paid off his family’s home mortgage in Clarksville.
During the days leading up to and following Memorial Day weekend, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation expects to pay off 20 mortgages across 11 states.
