Library to have book discussion | News, Sports, Jobs

May 1, 2021 FORT PLAIN The Fort Plain Free Library, 19 Willett St., will have in-person book discussion at 3 p.m. May 18 on Sebastian Junger’s 2016 book, “Tribe: On Homecoming and Belonging,” according to a news release. Junger, a journalist, author and filmmaker, explores what the participants can learn about those topics from tribal societies, particularly in relation to returning combat veterans. The book helps explain “Why we are stronger when we come together and how that can be achieved in today’s divided world.” The books and audiobooks are now available for borrowing in advance. Dolgeville school board meets Tuesday  The Dolgeville school board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, in the school auditorium. The school district will make the meeting accessible to the public through video streaming. The book, now a movie starring Tom Hanks and Helena Zengel, is set in Texas during Reconstruction.
