Three schools in the Douglas County School District will return to fully remote learning Friday after several positive cases resulted in an outbreak .
The Tri-County Health Department, whose jurisdiction includes Douglas County, directed Castle View High School, Rocky Heights Middle School and Sierra Middle School to return to remote learning.
On Wednesday, the health department directed Mountain Vista High School to return to remote learning.
“We have had a number of people at our school test positive for COVID-19 over the past two weeks, resulting in more than five operate outbreaks within our school,” wrote the district’s health, wellness and prevention team in a letter to parents and staff members at all four schools on Tuesday and Thursday.

DOUGLAS COUNTY â Four Douglas County schools will be in remote learning for the next two weeks due to COVID-19 quarantine protocols, officials said.
School board member David Ray posted the quarantine information Thursday night:
⢠Mountain Vista High School: Through April 20
⢠Castle View High School: Through April 22
⢠Rocky Heights Middle School: Through April 22
⢠Sierra Middle School: Through April 22
At Rocky Heights, five outbreaks of COVID-19 were identified, school officials wrote to parents and staff. Mountain Vista also had five outbreaks.
