MPS Announces 8-Week Summer Learning Program
MPS announced its summer learning program at the Montgomery County Board Of Education office. Cheering teachers school board member and Superintendent Anne Roy Moore announced the LAUNCH Summer Learning Program. The 8 week summer learning program is for MPS students pre-k through the 12th grade.
MPS’s staff stressed that learning is more essential now more than ever.
The program is for students at all levels filled with opportunities to learn by
• Promotion for failing students
• Reinforcement of previously Taught Standards.

MPS will provide Transportation for all students , Meals, breakfast and lunch snacks for K-5. Materials included learning materials.
Gov. Mike DeWine tasked Ohio s schools with creating extended learning plans to make up lost ground from the past year of remote education, and the result will be heavy reliance on summer programs and virtual options.
All middle school and high school students in USD 305 returned to full-time, on-site schooling Thursday. This decision comes as all statistics related to the pandemic continue to decline in the county.
The district will continue to require students, faculty, and other staff to wear masks inside district facilities, wash and sanitize their hands frequently, social distance, and use stable seating arrangements.
They also announced that there will be no field trips and visitors will not be allowed in schools through the end of the school year.
Milestone activities such as prom, graduation, and retirement recognition will be planned with modifications so that students and staff will not miss them, the district said.

When the COVID-19 closed down the Pima County Public Library, my first thoughts were for our young visitors.
What would they do without story time and an ample supply of picture books? The image of a child isolated at home, missing out on the opportunity to socialize with others their age saddened me.
There would be no singing or important conversations about favorite dinosaurs in the library for the foreseeable future.
More selfishly, I missed their enthusiasm for stories. Virtual story time allows children to see the librarians performing on camera, but the librarians cannot hear or see the reactions on the other end. Just like a comedian on stage, librarians work with the energy from the crowd. It is always easier to come up with silly voices for each character in a book and dance with a beanbag on your head with the infectious laughter of toddlers filling the room.
