Foundation donates $25K in Panama City Beach for medical research

PANAMA CITY BEACH A local foundation donated $25,000 to the University of Florida Health Foundation on Friday for inflammatory bowel disease research.  The Chip Hilton Classic Foundation presented the check at the Holiday Golf Club in Panama City Beach on behalf of Cody Khan, an owner of local Holiday Inn, his family and the Hilton family. Patrck Henry, senior director of development, UF Health said in a press release that inflammatory bowel disease or IBD affects 1.4 million people in the United States, including our children and young adults.  “Imagine being a high school or college student trying to study or hang around with friends having this terrible disease,  Henry said.  What about trying to start your first job or even start a family? Thanks to the research and education provided by Dr. Ellen Zimmermann, the University of Florida can find ways to improve the quality of life for patients suffering from IBD.”
