MORNINGTON remained on track to achieve its aim of joining Victoria’s elite club competition with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Beaumaris at Dallas Brooks Park on Saturday.
Sam Scott snatched the winner for the Seagulls in the 83rd minute when Josh Heaton’s hopeful ball forward wasn’t dealt with by the Beaumaris defence and Scott volleyed home from 20 metres.
Mornington’s push to win State 1 and clinch an NPL3 spot next season continued with this sixth straight win that now has Adam Jamieson’s side five points clear in top spot.

Alou Kuol will end his teenage years as a bona fide A-League star, and venture into his 20 s as a burgeoning talent flirting with the prospect of making his name on the European stage.
The 19-year-old will depart Central Coast Mariners for VfB Stuttgart at the conclusion of the 2020/21 A-League campaign - that much is known for sure. What remains unknown is how far the South Sudanese refugee can take his seemingly limitless potential, as he prepares to trade life on the Gosford coast for a place amongst the ranks of one of the German Bundesliga s founding clubs.

The Central Coast Mariners and VfB Stuttgart have agreed terms for the transfer of Alou Kuol, with the young forward to join the German club at the conclusion of the A-League 2020/21 season.
Kuol joined the Mariners youth setup from Goulburn Valley Suns after a trial in 2019 and made his A-League debut last year against Newcastle Jets as the season resumed from the COVID-19 hiatus. He has made his mark on the A League this season by putting in some great performances as well as scoring seven goals in the A-League.
Mariners Head of Football Ken Schembri said the move is a great step for Kuol and is a sign of the strong work being done in the Mariners Academy.
