GRETA publishes its third report on Romania

News News Strasbourg 3 June 2021 Augmenter la taille du texte Imprimer la page Imprimer en PDF The Council of Europe’s Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) has urged Romania to ensure that human trafficking offences lead to effective and dissuasive sanctions and that victims of trafficking have access to compensation. In a report published today evaluating access to justice and effective remedies for victims of trafficking in human beings, GRETA notes that Romania has continued to develop the legislative and policy framework relevant to action against trafficking. The Criminal Code was amended in 2020 to increase the minimum penalty for trafficking in children, and the authorities have adopted a new national strategy against human trafficking for 2018-2022.

News News Strasbourg 17 March 2021 Augmenter la taille du texte Imprimer la page Imprimer en PDF In a report published today, the Council of Europe’s Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) urges Denmark to improve the identification and protection of victims of trafficking, and to ensure that human trafficking offences are investigated, prosecuted and lead to effective, proportionate and dissuasive sanctions. This third report on Denmark’s implementation of the Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings, focuses on access to justice and effective remedies for victims of trafficking in human beings. It also assesses developments since the publication of GRETA´s second evaluation report in 2016.

GRETA visits France as part of the third evaluation round

News News Strasbourg 15 February 2021 Augmenter la taille du texte Imprimer la page Imprimer en PDF A delegation of the Council of Europe s Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) carried out an evaluation visit to France from 8 to 12 February 2021 as part of the third evaluation round of the Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings. The focus of this evaluation round of the Convention is on trafficking victims’ access to justice and effective remedies. Prior to the visit, the French authorities provided a reply to GRETA’s questionnaire for the third evaluation round. In addition to the new thematic focus, GRETA verified how the main recommendations made in its second evaluation report have been implemented.
