New coffee shop, 200 Degrees, will open in York in late June. A NEW coffee shop is preparing to throw open its doors in York - a year after its planned launch. The 200 Degrees Coffee Roasters have chosen York for their 14th coffee shop which will open in late June and create 15 new full and part-time jobs. The 82-seat shop will be at 68 Low Petergate. 200 Degrees director, Tom Vincent said it had been a long wait to open. “This shop should have been open last April but we’re finally here and we hope our independent attitude and relaxed way of doing things will add to this fantastic area as everything returns to normality, whatever that is.

After nearly a year under some degree of lockdown restrictions, businesses in Leicester - the UK city that was the first to be plunged into a local lockdown - are more than ready to open their doors for customers on Monday.
Jonathan Wainwright, 27, runs The Cradock Arms pub in the city with his family. The pub’s beer garden will reopen on Monday, while their second business, The Clarendon, will have to wait until indoor hospitality restarts on May 17.

The new solar panels covering the roof of the Frenz building provide all the power it needs. At the end of the month, “you’re next to neutral”, Darby said. “It’s a great feeling knowing you can do that.” On a standard day, the packhouse will use 35–40 kilowatts of power. The panels will produce over 50kW when the sun’s out and 20 on an overcast day.
