Lara Spencer of Good Morning America stopped by for a visit in Rhode Island recently and she shone a spotlight on tourism here in the Ocean State. She took a boat ride, also visited the mansions in Newport and checked out Water Fire in Providence. She highlighted our wonderful beaches and the fun stuff there is to do in the state. It s so great to see Little Rhody getting some national attention!
Hopefully that means lots more tourists will pay us a visit. I know sometimes that can mean big crowds, but that really would be great for our local economy that has been struggling, to say the least, during the pandemic. I say come on in and see what our little state has to offer!

PROVIDENCE, RI After losing its title as the smallest state with the longest name after the November election, Rhode Island may drop its claim to the first half of that statement, as well.
On Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill that, should it be signed into law, would make Washington, D.C. the 51st state in the union. Should that come to pass, the District of Columbia would be the smallest state in the union, taking the crown from the Ocean State.
