Even though the season has barely begun, we’re ready to call it: This is going to be the best year
ever for Canadian rosé. That’s huge, given that, not so long ago, imports dominated the pink wine market. Now, thanks to wineries across the country who’ve fully embraced the rosé movement, we have plenty of great homegrown options.
More than almost any other style, pink wine is about being in the moment. Because it’s delicate and contains fewer tannins than some other wines, rosé doesn’t get any better in the cellar. With rosé, the rule is always “Drink now.” And we say, “We’re here for it,” starting with three wines from British Columbia, where a lot of winemakers were ahead of the curve when it came to pink wine.
Dinner solutions include poultry, pork and seafood options
D.C.-area grocer Giant Food has expanded its private-label portfolio with a new line of Cook-in-Bag meal solutions.
Landover, Md.-based Giant said Monday the Cook-in-Bag products include 14 meat and seafood entrees that come pre-seasoned or pre-marinated in an oven-ready bag, for faster and more convenient preparation and clean-up. The new items with poultry, pork and seafood options are now available at all of the chain’s 164 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.
Cook-in-Bag poultry and pork varieties, which can be prepared in the package or in an oven or crockpot, include garlic and herb whole chicken roaster, garlic and herb chicken breasts, Asian teriyaki chicken breasts, “sweet kickin’” BBQ chicken breasts, chimichurri chicken thighs, carnitas chicken thighs, triple mustard and honey roast, Jamaican jerk roast, red wine and herb loin filet, and Greek seasone
