CLIFTON PARK Bennett Wilson was right in the middle of a Shenendehowa hitting display Thursday which included a kill to finish off the second set in what would be a Suburban Council boys’ volleyball sweep of Niskayuna.
Wilson is unlike the others on Shenendehowa’s front-line cast, though, and different from the rest of the Plainsmen, too.
“The running joke is how I skipped the ladder and took the stairs instead,” Wilson said of his status as Shenendehowa’s only freshman.
He’s not just the lone ninth-grader on this season’s “Fall II” varsity team, but the first ninth-grader to play for 10-year Plainsmen coach John Coletta.

HELENA â A man in Helena is bringing positivity to the community by writing free, motivational letters by request.
As an example, one letter begins with: âIâm proud of you. A friend of yours reached out to me and nominated you to receive a letter of motivation. Iâm a complete stranger to her and you, but I m not a stranger to sending strangers new ways to find motivation in their day.â
âWe re all pretty blessed to have this life. I see every day as an opportunity to really make the most of that day because we never know when it s going to be our last one, says Kyle Osborne.
