Best bets around town for the weekend — March 12-14, 2021

Sleuths and sloths on tap for weekend The Gainesville Sun FREEDOM VIEWING: Get a peek at part of the exhibition “Plural Domains/Selected Works from the Collection of the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation,” set to be on display in the fall, with “Javier Castro: Coliseum,” on display through March 12. In this installation, the artist pushes traditional audio-visual methods by using multiple channels to transform the space into a fragmented experience for the viewer. According to University Galleries, by liberating the audio from the video, a freedom is gained that allows the participant to associate varying sounds and images, modify the work to their choosing and, ultimately, create their own narrative. University Galleries’ hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday; and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. They are located at 400 SW 13th St. For more information, visit arts.ufl.edu/university-galleries.
