THE Voyager pub in Guisborough hosted a very different event last Saturday, when a book written by ten-year-old Ellah Louise Ramsey, was launched in the UK. Ellah had been a pupil at Galley Hill Primary School, virtually next door to the Voyager, and had been impressed by a visit in 2018 by Wakefield author Frank English to encourage the children to take an interest in books. He was a regular visitor to the Guisborough Book Shop and had hosted similar days to foster interest in books by children. Mr English said he and Ellah wrote the book together over a few months. “I met her quite some time ago when she was seven at Galley Hill Primary School, when I was visiting just to talk about writing stories. We met up at the beginning of this year and she told me over the internet that she liked writing and sent me some stories that she had written and I liked them.
