Residents across the north-east have been warned about a new scam offering a Covid vaccine in return for payment.
The fake NHS text says NHS – We have identified that you are eligible to apply for your vaccine and includes a link to a “convincing-looking” website, which asks for personal and bank account details.
Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray trading standards teams have warned people to be aware of the new scam, as well as a new round of cold calls asking people to pay for the vaccine over the phone.
A MUSSELBURGH drink-driver has been banned from the road after he was almost four times the legal alcohol limit. Gary Glasgow, of Arran Marches, drove a vehicle with 87mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath on the town’s Haddington Road. The legal limit is 22mg. Glasgow appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court and admitted the offence, which took place on July 25. The 42-year-old had not guilty pleas to driving with a flat tyre and no lights, and to failing to give police officers his personal information accepted by the Crown. Sheriff Peter McCormack banned him from driving for 20 months and ordered him to pay a total fine of £580.
