CAMDEN As part of Coastal Mountains Land Trust s Arts on the Hill program, the Just Teachers dance band will perform on Saturday, August 7 at 6 p.m. The free concert will be held at Beech Nut, the 100-year-old stone hut at the top of the hill. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, drinks and snacks, and come up the hill with your dancing shoes on! Don’t forget to bring a flashlight to light your way down the farm road.
Just Teachers was founded in May of 2008 among staff members at CRMS. The name was born when, overheard rehearsing at Camden-Rockport Middle School one day, a student asked, “Where is that music coming from? Oh, it’s just teachers.” Over the last ten years there have been many different musicians who have played with the group and three of the founding members are still with the band. They are all local educators.
