The
Houston men’s basketball team will begin its run in the American Athletic Conference Tournament when it takes on Tulane in the quarterfinals Friday evening.
The Cougars (21-3, 14-3 AAC) are coming off a thrilling regular-season finale against Memphis, which ended with a Hail Mary 3-pointer from almost the half-court line by freshman guard Tramon Mark.
With the win, UH was able to secure the No. 2 seed in the AAC Tournament.

The Houston men’s basketball team put together a near-perfect performance as it drubbed the South Florida Bulls
98-52 on Sunday afternoon at Fertitta Center.
The Cougars (20-3, 13-3 American Athletic Conference) shot lights out as they ended the day shooting 60 percent from the field. UH was also able to force 15 turnovers, scoring 22 points off them.
Coming off of a 33-point performance in UH’s
81-57 win over Western Kentucky, junior guard Quentin Grimes’ hands were still hot as he finished with 22, all of which came in the first half alone.

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) Cade Cunningham scored five of his 19 points in the second overtime, including a contested 3-pointer with 1:33 left, to help Oklahoma State beat sixth-ranked Texas 75-67 on Saturday.
Kalib Boone led OSU with 22 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks, including two in the second overtime after Cunningham had staked the Cowboys to a 74-67 lead with the 3-pointer and two free throws.
“I wouldn’t say it really got (the bad taste from the loss) out of our mouths because it’s going to be something that sticks with us for the rest of the season, but I would say it did help,” Tyson said. “We are looking forward to getting back to conference play.”
Tyson, who scored 20 in the first half, beat his previous career high of 31 points against Tulane on Jan. 28.
“I knew what my role is, and when I get my opportunities, I try to make the most of it,” Tyson said. “Those guys do a good job of finding me when I’m out there.”
