Mildred Micki Shinault Quesada, 80, worked third shift at Jimbo s Breakfast & Lunch for more than 30 years

WILMINGTON Mildred “Micki” Shinault Quesada, 80, died peacefully Friday, July 2, 2021, at The Robin Johnson House. She was born Jan. 14, 1941, in Ivanhoe, Virginia. Micki was the first in her immediate family to continue her education, graduating from Cape Fear Technical Institute in Wilmington with a degree in business administration. Many will remember her from the 30-plus years she worked third shift at Jimbo’s Breakfast & Lunch House in Wilmington. She never met a stranger and formed many friendships over the years. Micki was a devoted mother, wife and friend. She lived her life with strength, humor and courage. Micki loved her family, her furkids, cross-stich and reading. She could be found sitting in her favorite chair, surrounded by her poodles, working on projects. such as a baby blankets for grandchildren or friends. She poured all her love into her needlework, and it was exceptional.

Timothy Harold ‘Tim’ Knapp WILMINGTON Timothy Harold “Tim” Knapp, 55, unexpectedly passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021. Tim was born Oct. 11, 1965, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Boyd and the late Ruth Knapp. Tim graduated from Cape Fear Technical Institute with an Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering and Automotive Computer Technology. Tim was an avid science fanatic with a passion for the heavenly bodies (1066). He also had a love for archaeology and history of the Civil War. Tim will always be remembered for his extreme intelligence and wicked sense of humor. Tim is survived by his children, Savannah Knapp of Willard; son, Joshua Knapp of Wilmington; mother of his children, Wendy Knapp; father, Boyd Knapp of Wilmington; sister, Cat Clarke (Peg) of Illinois; nephews, Danny and James Blount; great-niece, Kavindra Blount. Billie Ray Lee, 81, taught electronics technology at Cape Fear and Brunswick community colleges

Billie Ray Lee WILMINGTON Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Billie Ray Lee, 81, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at Davis Health Care Center-Cambridge Village. Bill was born Nov. 1 1939, in Blount County, Alabama, to Lamion Lee and Dorothy Sweatt Lee. He attended J.B. Pennington High School before marrying Betty Sue Herndon of Blountsville, Alabama, in 1956. Shortly after their marriage, Bill joined the U.S. Air Force and completed his education at San Rafael High School, San Rafael, California. He served for 20 years, retiring in February 1977 from Fort Fisher Air Force Station. Among his service awards included the Meritorious Service Medal, which is the highest ranking non-combat service award. After his retirement, he graduated from Cape Fear Technical Institute with an Associate Degree in Applied Science-Electronics Technology in 1980.
