WASHINGTON – Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) recently announced United States Service Academy nominations for young men and women from Ohio’s 6th Congressional District, including nominees from Gallia and Meigs counties.
“It is truly an honor to announce the nomination of some outstanding young Ohioans to our United States Military Service Academies,” Johnson said in a news release.
Local students receiving nominations were Timothy Hill, Gallia Academy H.S. (Gallipolis)/ United States Naval Academy; Nicholas McConnell, Meigs Local H.S. (Pomeroy)/ United States Air Force Academy; and Madison Stewart, Gallia Academy H.S. (Gallipolis)/United States Air Force Academy.
When the cornavirus pandemic closed down businesses last March, business owners around the state made adjustments.
For Bob and Betty Bollas, owners of Fibonacci Brewing Co., adjustments meant selling beer from a drive-up window and making home deliveries. In early December the delivery concept extended to offering fans of Fibonacci Brewing next day shipping through UPS.
The offer is paying off for the small brewery in Mount Healthy, a northern suburb of Cincinnati. Even a couple of shipments a day means a lot to us, said Betty Bollas, who co-owns the brewery with he husband Bob.
Some of those next day shipments have made their way to Stark County, home turf for Bob Bollas who graduated from Louisville High School in 1997. Others have gone to the greater Cleveland area where the Bollases have family and friends.
