Popular WNY 4th Of July Parade Canceled Again The COVID 19 pandemic may be seeing it s last days here in the United States soon. As more people get vaccinated and the good weather allows for more outdoor activities, there are still a few events that are facing cancellation. Fireworks will still take place over Chautauqua Lake! According to a post from The Dunkirk Observer, the annual 4th of July /Independence Day parade in Mayville has been canceled. During the Mayville Village Board meeting Tuesday, Mayor Ken Shearer announced the planning committee has determined they need to cancel the parade due to COVID-19 concerns. But even without the parade there will be fireworks, just as there was in 2020.

However, there will be fireworks, just as there was in 2020. MAYVILLE The annual Fourth of July parade in Mayville has been canceled for the second year in a row. During the Mayville Village Board meeting Tuesday, Mayor Ken Shearer announced the planning committee has determined they need to cancel the parade due to COVID-19 concerns. But even without the parade there will be fireworks, just as there was in 2020. Shearer said the fireworks would be placed at the same location as last year near the boat launch at Lakeside Park. Parking and attendance will be limited, depending on what the state guidelines are at that point.

MAYVILLE There are 18 public school districts in Chautauqua County. Only one of them has been lucky enough to have met every day in person this school year with all of its students. That school is Chautauqua Lake. Last spring, Gov. Andrew Cuomo ordered all schools to go to remote learning due to COVID-19. Schools continued to stay that way throughout the end of the school year. They were told if they wanted to open in the fall, they needed to create a plan and meet certain criteria.
