The Ucross Foundation, the renowned artist residency program, today announced its Ucross Spotlight spring calendar, featuring virtual events with acclaimed artists, authors, and journalists, including visual artist Karen Kitchel; art writer Leah Ollman(The Los Angeles Times, Art in America); acclaimed authors Joshua Ferrisand Ottessa Moshfegh. Aura Estrada Prize Founder, Co-Director, and New Yorker contributing writer Francisco Goldman; writer and Aura Estrada Co-Director Gabriela Jauregui; and 2019 Aura Estrada Prize winner Natalia Trigo kicked off the spring series on April 22. Deaton is chairman of the Board of Directors at Transocean and a director of the University of Wyoming Foundation. Ucross, an artist residency program and creative laboratory for the arts in northeast Wyoming, today announced playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins as its newest board member. Jacobs-Jenkins, whose work includes Everybody (Signature Theater), Neighbors (Public Theater), An Octoroon (Soho Rep, OBIE Award for Best New Play), Appropriate (Signature Theater, OBIE Award for Best New Play, Outer Critics Circle nominee), Gloria (Vineyard Theater, 2015), and War (Yale Rep, forthcoming), is a former Ucross Fellow.
