Black Caps captain Kane Williamson was awarded the Sir Richard Hadlee Medal for the fourth time in six years, while Amelia Kerr and Devon Conway claimed double honours at the New Zealand Cricket Awards for the 2020-21 season.
Williamson s incredible home test summer helped him claim the supreme award, along with the international test player of the year and the Redpath Cup for first-class batting, after he amassed a whopping 639 runs in just four innings at an average of 159.

Even the great Sir Richard Hadlee couldn’t cajole Kane Williamson into selecting his favourite innings, as he presented the skipper with New Zealand Cricket’s supreme individual award for the fourth time. Williamson became the first four-time winner of the Sir Richard Hadlee Medal for men’s player of the year since its inception in 2011, at NZC’s virtual awards ceremony for the 2020-21 season on Tuesday night. The world’s top-ranked test batsman, who also pocketed the medal in 2016, 2017 and 2019, was a compelling candidate after batting nearly 29 hours across four test innings against West Indies and Pakistan.
