WORCESTER An alleged attack on lifeguards at the Lincoln Village pool is the second violent episode targeting lifeguards in the city in the last month.
Lincoln Village is a private complex, and the victims of Wednesday s alleged incident were not public employees.
A receptionist at Lincoln Village said management would not be making any comments or statements on the alleged incident.
Worcester Police spokesman Katie Daly said officers assigned to the Summer Impact Program will continue to patrol beaches, parks and pool areas during their shifts.
“Our officers routinely patrol these areas during the summer months in an effort to deter crime,” Daly said. “The command staff meets weekly to discuss crime trends in all areas of the city. When they see an increase in activity in certain areas, they direct resources there to mitigate existing and potential problems.
