CPI (M) state general secretary K Balakrishnan, other party members G Ramakrishnan and Mahendran met DMK leaders at the DMK headquarters in Arivalayam on Saturday. CPI (M) and DMK delegations have discussed the seat-sharing in today s meeting. Both parties have asked for their required number of seats , Balakrishnan said after the meeting with the DMK leaders.

It is inadequate for us and we have expressed our demands. They said that they will get back after talking to their leader M K Stalin,” said Balakrishnan. He added that the party would take decisions after discussing the ongoing seat-sharing talks with the leading partner in their party executive committee meeting.

Balakrishnan told TOI that the committee had spoken to police regarding a small protest, however, it decided not to organise it. A team of police officers had visited Balakrishnan’s home in Chennai’s Palavanthangal three days ago.
