BRIDGEPORT A recently retired city police officer, awaiting trial for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl, pleaded not guilty Monday to allegedly sexually assaulting another girl more than a dozen years ago.
Ivan Delgado, a 13-year member of the Bridgeport Police Department, had been arrested in November on a warrant charging him with first-degree sexual assault.
His plea hearing had been delayed because of the pandemic.
Delgado pleaded not guilty virtually before Superior Court Judge Kevin Russo and asked for a jury trial.
The judge continued the case to Feb. 25 when a pretrial conference is scheduled for Delgado’s other pending case.
