Straub Named ACC Diver of the Week share
NOTRE DAME, Indiana After a record-setting performance in No. 18 Notre Dame’s dominant win at West Virginia over the weekend, senior Kelly Straub has been named ACC women’s Diver of the Week. It marks her second weekly conference honor of the season and fourth in the last two seasons.
Straub rewrote the record books for her second-consecutive week, as she won the battle on the women’s platform, with just .07 points separating first and second. Straub won out with a 273.45, and Annie Wiese took a narrow second with 273.38, both notching Zone-A scores. Both topped the previous Notre Dame program record on the platform (267.35) set by Lindsey Streepy in 2014.
No. 18/18 Irish Travel to West Virginia share
NOTRE DAME, Indiana No. 18/18 Notre Dame will travel to West Virginia for the first true road dual meet of the 2020-21 season for the Irish, taking place January 29-30.
The Irish competed against West Virginia once already this season in a virtual meet, from which Notre Dame emerged victorious. Since then, Notre Dame has taken on multiple competitions, most recently putting up a dominant performance in the Shamrock Invitational, setting seven pool records, including one program record, over the course of the meet.
“We are excited to be competing again this weekend,” head swim coach Mike Litzinger said. “It’s our first road trip of the year, and it comes at a great time.
