Almost six months after raising $78,000 within two days via a GoFundMe fundraiser, Ray’s Ice Cream in Royal Oak is giving back to its community.
On Sunday, which happens to be National Ice Cream Day, Ray’s wants the community to stop by the shop at 4233 Coolidge Highway for free ice cream during the shop’s regular hours, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
“It’s just the one flavor Sprinkles which we call ‘birthday cake,’” said Tom Stevens, president of the family-owned business. “Hopefully, we’re ready for the crew,” he said.
