THE German Film Festival is back at Palace Electric, opening with “Next Door”, a Hitchcockian comedy-drama directed by Daniel Brühl and written by Daniel Kehlmann, about a famous German-Spanish actor named Daniel (played by Brühl) who stops for a drink in the wrong bar on his way to an audition. IN mid-March 2020, we reported that founding director of the National Multicultural Festival, Domenic Mico, was using his art to take a leap into space with an exhibition called âThe Cosmosâ, due to open in the large gallery of M16.
It was his second show, for after retiring from production, he had returned to his early passion for painting which had been kindled when, as a young man, he had trained at the old Canberra School of Art before turning to the performing and community arts in the early 1970s.Â

A slew of Brisbane parks are slated for upgrades this year as Brisbane City Council plans new playgrounds, picnic areas, shade trees and other facilities across the suburbs.

More than 2,100 parks are managed by Brisbane City Council, including suburban parklands and conservation areas, with $71 million in capital expenditure allocated to parks in the 2020-21 budget.
