Kennebunk s new RSU 21 school board member Josiah Currier resigns
KENNEBUNK, Maine The person who was appointed just last week to represent the town s interests on the Regional School Unit 21 board has suddenly resigned.
An agenda for this Monday s meeting of the RSU 21 board includes a notice of Josiah Currier s resignation. Town and school board officials confirmed that Currier submitted his resignation Friday morning.
In his brief resignation letter, Currier said he needed to resign for unanticipated personal reasons and apologized for his inability to accept the school board seat after all, according to school board Chair Art LeBlanc.
The decision came as a surprise to LeBlanc, who said RSU 21 established an email account for Currier and gave him a variety of information about school board procedures.
