Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell reports that home visits conducted by agents with Arkansas Community Corrections have lead to the arrests of five Searcy County residents.
Agents conducted a home visit on April 21 at the residence of 49-year-old James Douglas Watkins, who is a parolee, and 47-year-old Nellie Leann Ford in Marshall. After advising Watkins for the reason of the visit, agents began a search of residence looking for compliance checks.
In the shared bedroom in a nightstand belonging to Watkins, agents located a pouch that contained multiple bags of a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, a straw with white residue inside and a smoking device that contained a burned residue inside it.

On the evening of Sunday, while on patrol, Searcy County Deputies assisted the Marshall Police with a complaint call concerning a 4-wheeler driving down Spring Street.
According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, deputies went down Highway 27 South in case the 4-wheeler traveled in that direction and found the 4-wheeler in a ditch. When officers began to step out of their vehicles, the 4-wheeler, driven by 27-year-old Derek Still of Marshall, left the ditch at a high rate of speed traveling towards Marshall. Officers noted that Stills was driving erratically at speeds of 50-60 mph.
