Police are investigating bank robbery in Gettysburg

Updated: 2:10 PM EDT June 15, 2021 GETTYSBURG, Pa. Police in Gettysburg are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Tuesday morning. The incident was reported at 11:30 a.m. at the BB&T Bank on the first block of Washington Street in the borough, police say. A lone suspect entered the bank, picked up items from the counter, and began throwing them at employees while demanding money, according to police. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left the bank and ran south on Washington St., turned east on Water St., and entered a red or maroon Nissan sedan with unknown registration that was parked and waiting for him, police say.

Arrest made in Gettysburg shooting: police Updated Mar 11, 2021; Police have arrested a man in connection with a Gettysburg shooting overnight that left one person in critical condition. According to a statement from Gettysburg police, officers were dispatched to the area of Chambersburg Street and Racehorse Alley around 12:15 a.m. Thursday. Responding officers found a gunshot victim in the 100 block of Chambersburg Street, police said. The injured person was transported to the Adams County Emergency Services Building where he was then flown to a trauma center. Witnesses told investigators they heard shots in the area and saw people running away, police said.
