CCTV on its way to village

Kempsey Parish Council voted to install camera at Plovers Rise playing field next to Kempsey Youth Centre. At a council meeting in January 2020, an item discussed was vandalism at the youth club, which included damage to a pane of laminated glass and at the beginning of this year we reported on damage to a protective covering on a life-saving defibrillator and smashing up a make-shift skate ramp created by a doting father for his kid. Cllr Martin Allen, who is a district councillor for Upton, as well as a parish councillor for Kempsey, said: “Following the damage to the Defibrillator and the many reports of vandalism I am extremely pleased to see that Kempsey Parish Council have taken up my call to have CCTV installed.

Opponents to 90 homes on edge of Worcester say roads would not cope

OBJECTORS to a plan to build more than 90 homes on the edge of Worcester say narrow roads in the area will not be able to cope with the amount of traffic caused by a huge urban extension of the city. Concerns have been raised over a Rooftop Housing plan to build 91 affordable homes on the former Ketch car boot site next to the A4440 Southern Link Road in Worcester. St Peter s locals and parish councillors in Kempsey have objected to the plan saying surrounding roads are inadequate to cope with the planned number of homes and local schools would not be able to manage.
