Carolina Markowicz and Somayeh Jafari join the agency whilst el Colony s owner Olga works on her debut feature
The year of the pandemic brought two new female filmmakers to the owned by women El Colony: Carolina Markowicz (Brazil) and Somayeh Jafari (UK).
Different in style and personality, both strengthen El Colony’s roster for international representation.
Strictly speaking, Carolina joined just before the pandemic, but as soon as news emerged from China, international travel was put on hold. During the past year, Carolina focused on local and remote work – the effortless, touching Volvo Potatoes ; a series of films for Skol bursting with party energy barely contained by lockdown, a fun-filled, all too familiar nightmare of small kids in lockdown for Facebook and her latest – Mercado Livre (Carolina’s reel). 2020 also brought her an international EMMY for Netflix TV series Nobody’s looking , where Carolina is a co-cre

Fabric to live-stream DJ sets from Tower Bridge, the V&A and beyond to raise awareness for at-risk venues Jochan Embley
Fabric will host DJ sets in seven iconic London landmarks from Tower Bridge to the V&A to raise awareness of the music venues pushed to the brink of closure by the pandemic.
The Farringdon club will host the seven-week series, dubbed London Unlocked, using part of the money it was awarded by Arts Council England from the Culture Recovery Fund.

GALA Festival has announced the full line-up for this year s festival.
Moving from May Bank Holiday to summer dates this year, after being forced to cancel the 2020 edition due to the coronavirus pandemic, GALA Festival will return to Peckham Rye Park on 31st July & 1st August - taking place across two days for the very first time.
Celebrating its fifth anniversary, GALA will host the very best in house, disco, dub and jazz across the leafy South London park, with breweries, record labels and party brands also headed for the weekend celebrations.
Among the artists confirmed for GALA are Bradley Zero, CC:Disco!, Dan Shake, DEBONAIR, DJ Paulette and Gerd Janson, who ll perform alongside the likes of Horse Meat Disco, Jayda G, Mafalda and Move D.
