Over 2,000 students will benefit from tablet computers being donated by the Culture, Health, Arts, Sports and Education (CHASE) Fund to early childhood institutions across Jamaica to facilitate virtual learning.
Two thousand devices, valued $50 million, will be distributed between May and August to several schools.
They include: Allman Town Infant School in Kingston; Evelyn Mitchell Infant School in Clarendon; Arcadia Primary and Infant School in St. Thomas; Boundbrook Infant School in Portland; Naggo Head Infant School in St. Catherine; and Bethabara Infant School in Manchester.
In time for Christmas, the cards will make their way to Gosport War Memorial Hospital, Thorngate Living, Glen Heathers care home, Brendoncare, First Light Trust, Veterans Outreach and Shore Leave Haslar.
Stuart Andrews, manager of Gosport Asda, said: ‘I’m really proud of how involved in the community our community champions Rachel and Heidi have been.

‘It’s important that we remember those who have suffered most during these uncertain times and I’m sure that these cards will bring some joy to the residents and veterans.
