The defendant, whose address was not provided, is being tried for rape. The Prosecutor, Insp. Caleb Leramo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 23 in Ado-Ekiti. Leramo said that the defendant allegedly invited the minor into his room and defiled her.

Two remanded in Ekiti for raping 11, 13-year-old girls On Kindly Share This Story: A Chief magistrate court, sitting in Ado Ekiti has ordered two suspected rapist, Deji Oke (35) and Ogunmiloyo Kehinde (22), to be remanded at the Nigerian Correctional center, Ado Ekiti for raping 11 and 13-year-old girls. In her ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Olufunke Anoma said ” She found it difficult to overlook reports of rape and sexual assault on our female children, which has now become recurring decimal on daily basis, adding that, this social malaise demands more urgent and proactive action from all stakeholders involved in child care delivery.” She ordered the remand of the duo in the custody of Nigerian correctional services and adjourned the matter to18/03/21 for mention.

An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Osun, on Friday, ordered the remand of a 44-year-old man, Kazeem Olapade, in Ilesa Correctional Centre for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Olapade is facing a three-count charge of assault, rape and unlawful sexual intercourse. The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Magistrate, Dr Olusegun Ayilara, ordered the remand of the defendant in a correctional centre due to the magnitude of the offences alleged committed. x Ayilara overruled the bail application made by the Defence Counsel, Mr Jimmy Jones, and fixed the next adjourned date for ruling on it.
