Apr 29, 2021 Karen Dohne Cotten passed away at 11:55 p.m. on April 27, 2021, peace-fully at home, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 10, 1944, in Syracuse to the late Raymond and Virginia (Gulgusky) Dohne. Karen graduated from Liverpool High School in 1962 and from SUNY Brockport in 1966. She then began her teaching career at Falconer Central School, where she taught physical education and health for 35 years before retiring in 2005. While there, she touched numerous lives as a teacher, athletic director, coach, and friend. Her presence there remains strong as the tennis courts were named for her in 2007. After retiring, she continued to substitute teach for 15 years until becoming sick. She was so blessed to have many of her Falconer family with her until the end. ....

William Bill Schulz, 86, of Kenilworth, IL, passed away due to complications related to leukemia on Jan. 21, 2021, with his family by his side. Bill was born on November 11, 1934, in Harvard, to the late Fred and Helen Schulz and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Karin; his two daughters, Julie (Matthew) Halbower and Dr. Pamela Schulz, and his son Bill Schulz; his siblings, John, Ken (Marcia), Jim (Carolyn), and Dr. Russell (Hubertus) Schulz and Marybeth (Bill) Peden; his four grandchildren, Samantha, Veronica, Abby and Drew; and numerous nieces and nephews. ....

Eric Scott Hagen, 30, of Redwood Falls passed away on Dec. 25, 2020, in the presence and loving touch of his family. Private family funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 from Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. He enjoyed spending time at SEI, bowling with his REM friends, attending REM activities including holiday parties, Special Olympics, attending community events and spending time with friends and family. ....

The events of 2020, of which only some are COVID-19 related, have altered her Christmas plans this year. She knew when she and her husband, Doug Hooper, had a tree and a bush removed from their Shadyside Road property earlier this year that their traditional Christmas light display would have to be downsized. Not only would there be fewer lights in their yard without them, but the large ornaments that always hung from the tree would be missing. ....
