Turning most vehicles into crossovers / SUVs seems to be the norm these days, and Ford is doing just that with its next generation Fusion, known as the Mondeo on the other side of the Atlantic.
As such, the mid-size car will grow out of its sedan body style into a crossover-like machine, with a slightly sloping roofline behind the B pillars and generous ground clearance. If that sounds something like Subaru’s Outback, which itself, is a rugged version of the Legacy Wagon, you’re absolutely right.
The heavy camo, which includes that big hump at the back, does a very good job at hiding the design details on the latest prototype spied testing in Europe’s frozen north, but we can still spot some cues, such as the new stylish grille with a 3D pattern, slim LED lights, and flush-mounted door handles.
