In an email to MTN, DNRC s Paige Cohn said, Crew is feeling good about working through the day and containing the fire even more, but they are cognizant of weather conditions and the fact that fire behavior can change rapidly based on those conditions. In conjunction with the Helena Lewis and Clark National Forest Service and DNRC, The Lewis and Clark Sheriff s Office (LCSO) will take the lead on the investigation on how this fire started.

Crews contain small wildfire between Missoula and Lolo By: Mark Thorsell and last updated 2021-07-13 22:44:55-04 LOLO — Crews have contained a wildfire that sparked on Tuesday afternoon between Missoula and Lolo. Missoula Rural Fire District (MRFD) Assistant Chief Brent Christopherson says the fire which may have been started by lightning was reported at around 4 p.m. in the 6900 block of Deadman Gulch Road. MTN News Numerous callers reported the fire to the Missoula 911 Center saying it was started by a lightning strike with a storm cell that moved through the area. The fire could be seen from US Highway 93.
