Illinois Democrats doled out $2.8 million in federal coronavirus relief money on everything from flood relief to violence prevention programs. Republicans say they were shut out of the process and that the money's being distributed with few specifics.

Williams said that as of June, approximately 28,600 employees, or 60 percent, of the state s workforce throughout Illinois was in the office and approximately 18,900 employees, or 40 percent, of the workforce was still working remotely or in a hybrid status. Williams said it s too early to say how much of that remote work will continue, or what impact it may have on the square footage the state needs to maintain for its in-person employees. The Illinois Department of Central Management Services continues to assess the state s real estate portfolio statewide and will make future adjustments to optimize leases as needed, Williams said. The health and safety of state employees remains the highest priority.
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Pritzker administration will distribute $31.5 million in grants to groups in disadvantaged areas across Illinois following a successful first year of recreational marijuana sales. This was possible through the Restore, Reinvest, and Renew (R3) program created by the law which legalized adult-use cannabis last year.
25% of marijuana tax revenue will help communities struggling with disinvestment, violence, and disproportionate impacts created by the war on drugs. Groups will focus funding on economic development, violence prevention, youth development, re-entry services, and civil legal aid. Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton says it was critical to have citizens with lived experiences on the board responsible for the grants.
