West Grey council accepted the recommendation by the West Grey Ad Hoc Police Building Committee and approved the detailed designs for the future West Grey Police Service building as prepared by Formworks Inc. Architects, and that the architect provide a design option for gender-inclusive washroom, change room and shower with an estimate of the impact on costs.
This occurred at the Jan. 19 West Grey council meeting.
Council heard that the existing West Grey police station is well past its usable lifespan and is drastically undersized to serve the residents of West Grey.
West Grey awarded a contract to Formworks Architects for the design and project management of the new West Grey police station in July of 2020. Since then Formworks has been working with West Grey and West Grey police staff to complete a site plan and building layout.
