July 15, 2021
KARACHI: Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) on Wednesday celebrated the completion of 10,000 Changan vehicles at their assembly plant in just two years in Pakistan, a statement said.
In 2019 Master Changan Motors Limited rolled out their first locally assembled vehicle, but soon after Covid-19 struck and transformed everything and everyone.
Regardless of the devastating effects of the pandemic, particularly on the auto industry, MCML relentlessly moved forward and achieved its targets ahead of their planned schedule.
MCML acquired Greenfield status under the Auto policy 2016-2021 and entered into a joint venture with Changan automobile with an initial investment of $100 million. The JV investment has crossed over $136 million to date.

KARACHI: Pakistan’s auto market demand is likely to double from 300,000 units to 650,000 units in five years as a result of rapid digital transformations in the country’s economy coupled with a growing young population, a Chinese automaker said on Wednesday.
“The recent population trend shows around 10 million young males are expected to become independent earners in just half a decade,” said an official of Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) during the company’s first vendor conference.
The conference that was held at the company’s plant in the metropolis is also the first ever such event conducted by any new entrant in Pakistan’s automotive industry.

Changan may have an answer to Mehmoodâs problem and people like him. The company is testing self-parking and to some extent the self-driving Level-3 autonomous compact SUV Uni-T.
