The Patriot Town Board met February 2nd as scheduled, but the minutes are not available. When requested, I was advised that the Board has ruled that no minutes will be released until approved, which means that there will always be a month long delay before that information is available. A long time ago in Germany, a mother was cleaning for Christmas. Spiders fled up to the attic to escape the broom. On quiet Christmas Eve, the spiders slowly came down for a peek. “Oh, what a beautiful tree!”
In excitement, they scurried up and out along each branch. They were filled with happiness as they climbed amongst the glittering beauty. But alas! By the time they were done, the tree was shrouded in their dusty grey web.
When Santa came with gifts for the children and saw the tree covered with spider webs, he smiled because he saw how happy the spiders were but knew how heartbroken the mother would be if she saw it covered in dusty webs. So, he turned the webs to strands of silver and the tree was even more beautiful than before.

Did you know that the chopping down of the Christmas tree represents the death of Christ and putting it back up represents the resurrection of Christ?
Did you know that the wreaths we hang are never ending circles that represent eternity?
Candy canes were made to look like shepherd hooks and the colors, red Jesus’ blood, white purity.
The gifts represent the three gifts the wise men brought for baby Jesus.
So, when you are running around trying to find the “perfect gift”, stop yourself, take a deep breath and remember, we have been given the perfect gift, Jesus Christ was given to us to remove all of our sins. Amen! Merry Christmas!
