Government buildings in Clark County, Ohio, will gain improved connectivity through a $2.2 million fiber-optic project that was approved by county commissioners yesterday. The funds are American Rescue Plan Act dollars.

The board allocated grants from donor-designated and agency funds. Agency Funds are established by charitable organizations and can be endowed or non-endowed. The agency benefits from the Foundation’s professional asset management, which allows the agency’s staff and board to focus on providing services to their constituents.
Designated Funds provide annual support to the charities selected by the donor. They offer the added benefit that if the organization ceases to exist; the Foundation has the responsibility to ensure that the donor s original intent is met in seeking new suitable organizations.

CCSD Supt. Jara appointed to Nevada Childrenâs Commission

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) â Clark County School District (CCSD) Supt. Dr. Jesus F. Jara has been appointed to the Nevada Department of Health & Human Services Division of Child and Family Services Childrenâs Commission.
âOur most vulnerable children often face adult problems that can create more obstacles for them to succeed in school,â said CCSD Supt. Dr. Jesus F. Jara. âI am honored to be appointed to the Childrenâs Commission that works to coordinate and share resources that benefit children most in need in the community.â

The Trenton Police Department will help 11 children during this year’s Shop with A Cop. Assistant Police Chief Lieutenant Larry Smith reports wish lists were obtained from the Department of Family Services Children’s Division, and shopping was done online due to the pandemic.
Multiple employees helped with purchasing gifts and will help deliver them. Deliveries will start on December 20
th, or the families can pick up gifts at the Law Enforcement Center.
Smith notes donations from the community covered the cost of the items. The police department receives donations, and Green Hills Rural Development keeps track of them. They are not kept in house.
