PRINCE GEORGE County police are investigating the death of a woman who apparently drowned in a pond Sunday morning.
Police were called to the 5500 block of Family Drive around 10:45 a.m., a department spokeswoman said. While searching the property, officers found an unidentified woman face down in the pond. The body was removed from the pond and taken to the state medical examiner s office in Richmond for autopsy.
No other details were released.

PRINCE GEORGE, Va. (WWBT) - Prince George County Police are investigating a womanâs death after a body was in a pond.
Police found the body on the 5500 block of Family Drive around 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, according to a release from Prince George police. Officers searched the area and found the woman unresponsive and face down in the pond.
The body has been transported to the medical examinerâs office to determine the cause of death.
